Country Roads
Reduced simplicity
Houses in silhouette
The authority of light
Until its enemy
The darkness comes
Fragile realities
now reliant on other senses
What remains?
Everything
Take it in
Touch the darkness
Drag your fingers through it like dry sand
Feel the breeze of it on still cheeks
Smell it
Hear it
Dream it
Until dawn
